Has anyone read the article on ArtExpress in the Australian, "Teen Spirit"? Slightly scathing. Just like you all to know I think your works are a huge achievement, whatever the journalists say (:
Ah yes I did actually. How lovely it was to see a picture of one of my works with the lines "Making collages and sticking bits together is useless once your age is no longer counted in single digits". Apparently I'm suppose to be limited to 2D mark-making and 'fine motor skills'. I smell snooty-nosed ignorance.
That article can hardly be called a review. I interpreted it as more of a pointless rant made by some socially decrepit turd with a superiority complex.
That's right folks, if you haven't been painting the ceiling for four years like little Mickey-angelo, you just don't cut it for this guy.
AND of course we were probably not intellectual enough to do any other subjects. *big eye roll* The fact that he assumed my brother is some how "suffering" suggests to me he is rather non-reflective and narrow minded.
Honestly, this guy needs a good flick on the forehead.
Then again what should we expect, he does right for the Australian after all...
A exciting new feature of ARTEXPRESS 09 at the Art Gallery of NSW is this blog, in which we ask exhibiting students to write about their experiences and answer questions asked of them by their fellow exhibiting students, current art students studying for the HSC and the general public who may wish to know more about their artworks and ideas.
We encourage you to join the discussion.
ARTEXPRESS
The annual exhibition of outstanding HSC student artworks. ARTEXPRESS is a joint project of the NSW Department of Education and Training and the Office of the Board of Studies NSW in association with the Art Gallery of NSW. See InsideARTEXPRESS: www.insideartexpress.com.au.
